The Complete D23 Schedule So Far + What I'm Most Excited For!

As of today, the 2019 D23 Expo is only 21 days away! There is so much anticipation surrounding this year's Expo, with huge updates on projects like Disney+, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and Marvel's Phase 4 expected to be announced during the three day period. Every convention, D23 releases an app a couple of weeks in advance that details the entire schedule of the convention, including panels, signings, appearances, and events on the show floor, though the app has yet to be released as of yet.

Personally, this will be my third year attending D23, and I have to say this is the most excited I've been for the convention so far! Since there are so many exciting things propelling the Walt Disney Company forward at this moment in time, I'm anticipating that this will be one of the most exciting D23 conventions to date. If you're a planner like me, you're probably lamenting at the fact that the full D23 schedule in its entirety has yet to be released. So, in order to remedy that (and also to get some planning done on my end), I've decided to compile a comprehensive guide to the D23 2019 schedule as we know it so far.

Everything outlined in this post can be found in separate posts on D23's website!

Whew! Are you overwhelmed yet? And this isn't even the end of it! So far, the convention is jam-packed with exciting panels, experiences and appearances by our favorite Disney stars and legends. Personally, I am most looking forward to the Walt Disney Studios panel on Saturday, as most people are. Even if I don't make it into that panel (though I will try my hardest, TRUST me), I am so excited to see the updates they release on films like Star Wars and Frozen II.

This year's Disney Legends Ceremony is jam-packed with amazing and deserving actors, musicians, artists, and more who will be receiving their Disney Legends award, one of the highest honors to receive in the Walt Disney Company. Robert Downey Jr., Ming-Na Wen, and James Earl Jones will be honored this year, to name a few!

Though it isn't outlined on the schedule, I'm also ecstatic about the Lucasfilm pavilion on the Show Floor. This will be the first time Lucasfilm hosts their own pavilion at D23, and I just know they won't disappoint. Since Marvel went so hard at Comic-Con, I'm hoping us Star Wars fanatics get some exciting content at D23!

Disney+ is another exhibitor attendees will not want to miss out on this year. Before I made this post, I had no clue that Jeff Goldblum is hosting a Q&A at their show pavilion! On top of that, Jon Favreau plans on releasing plenty of content surrounding the Mandalorian, which will be released this fall with the launch of the streaming service. D23 attendees will also have the chance to be among the first to experience Disney+ at their pavilion! I have to say, Disney+ is one of the most exciting things happening within the company this year and it's definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to hearing about the most.

I'm honestly already so overwhelmed, it's hard to say what I'm most excited for. There are still plenty of events, experiences, and appearances Disney has yet to announce. Plus, there's still tons of shopping to do, which you won't want to miss out on if you're interested in scoring some exclusive merchandise. All in all, it's safe to say that D23 has something for every Disney fan out there!

What are you most looking forward to at this years D23 Expo?

  1. Can I just say this list is super helpful to see it written down like that! The schedule style D23 uses is nice but doesn't include everything and I'm more of a wordy person lol.

I'm going Friday and Saturday and I'm excited for animated movie and Marvel news (yeah I know Marvel just had that big SDCC panel but I'm not flying all the way from Canada for my first expo to NOT get the Marvel goods in some form or another, so take notes D23! :P) so I'm probably gonna try to get into the movie panel. I'm sure you Star Wars peeps are gonna get fed so no need to worry about that. :) I just still do not understand the decision to combine animation and live action into one panel when the ones from other years looked pretty full of content as is.

On Friday there's a lot I want to do (Legends, Dancing With the Stars, Disney+, Phineas and Ferb) and quite a bit of it conflicts so I'm gonna try to build a schedule that allows me to have at least one experience related to each of my top favorite things if that's possible. Saturday there's the movie panel and then probably show floor and pavilions afterwards. I'm kinda sad I'm missing Sunday because of the voice actor and heroines panels but I've never been to the area before and also want time to hit up the parks and maybe head to Los Angeles for a day during the week I'm in California soooo I guess I can't be TOO sad. :P

Oh and cosplay photoshoots look super fun but I'm only bringing one bag for the whole week so idk what I could fit for that.

    1. I'm the same way when it comes to the schedule! I really wanted to see everything laid down in chronological order which is why I did this! Good luck getting into the Studios panel - I'll be trying too! I'm hoping for some kind of lottery system though so things can be as fair as possible.

Thanks so much for reading, I hope you have a great time at the convention!!!
